Stories to read and listen to, for recognising emotions, putting a name to them and learning to regulate them.

A child feels anger, fear or shame long before they can call them by name. FabuStory was created to give children those words through something they have always understood: a story.

Why FabuStory

Today a lot of children spend their time on videos and social media made for grown-ups, often on Mum or Dad's phone, where an algorithm built around the adult's tastes decides what comes next. So they sometimes end up seeing things that aren't right for their age.

FabuStory was created to be the alternative: stories to read and listen to, with no ready-made pictures, where children get to use their own imagination again. In a story they watch something happen to someone else that they may be going through themselves, and together with the main character they find a way to live with it.

It doesn't replace parents or educators: it works alongside them. Stories for everyone and for every day, not a therapy.

Three steps, one story at a time

  1. Recognise it The main character feels something, and the listener watches it happen from the outside.
  2. Name it The story offers the right word: not just angry, but also disappointed, jealous, frustrated.
  3. Regulate it The main character tries out a way to stay with what they feel: breathing slowly, telling someone, waiting for it to pass.
